Chiangmai province is the largest city in Northern Thailand . The city was founded in 1296 as the capital of the ancient Lanna Kingdom and it still proudly wears its distictive culture and long history for all to see. Doi Suthep temple and Palad temple

Lanna Kingdom is where you can appreciate some ancient Lanna cultural heritage, arts and the Buddhist way of life, there are many temples in Chiangmai. Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is one of the wondrous and holy temple , The temple was established in 1386 under King Keu Na one and enjoys a mystical birth story. A visiting Sukhothai monk instructed the Lanna King to establish a temple with the twin of a miraculous Buddha relic. The relic was mounted on a white elephant, which wandered the mountain until it died. The temple was immediately built on the miraculously-chosen site. It is approached by a steep flight of 306 stairs flanked by green trees and guarded by 16th century figures. An easier, if less atmospheric, route is via an adjacent funicular. One a clear day the panoramic views of the city from the temple ground are truly spectacular.

Doi Inthanon National park

This national park is covering an area of 482 km park elevation ranges 2565 meters with highest peak Doi Inthanon which is the highest mountain in Thailand . The Mountain is part of the Himalayan mountain range. The park has high humidity and very cold weather throughout the year. Mid day temperatures are normally around 10-12 C , walk into the most hill evergreen forest to see the plant and especially birds. Continue to Phra Mahathat Naphamethanidon and Nophamethanidon are two chedi built by the Royal Thai Force to commemorate the king ‘s and queen’s 60 birthdays in 1989 and 1992, respectively. In the base of the octagonal chedi is a hall containing a stone Buddha image.
