Chiangrai Province

 Chiangrai is the northern most province of Thailand that is 829 kms far from Bangkok, located on Mae Kok river basin. It is mountainous and boarderd by the Shan State of Myanmar to the north, Bo Keaw Province of Laos  to the east.
Chiangrai province has been well known as Golden Triangle bordering Laos and Myanmar and used to be the hub of opium trading many years ago which has influence lifestyles and cultures. People can travel   through  these countries freely to arrive the south of China in one day.
 
 The Great King Mengrai Came from Chiang Sean that was the first capital of Lanna Kingdom to found Chiangrai  in 1238AD and used it as the second capital of his kingdom before moving his people to live in Chiangmai another few years late on.
 
 Chiangrai has many interesting places to visit such as Chiang Sean, the ancient town which has the old history longer than 1000 years, with the witnesses of ruins, old walls, ancient temples that can be seen around Chiang Sean town. Golden Triangle, where the borders of three countries meet at the mighty Mae Khong River. Doi Mae Salong where famous green tea has been planted by Chinese people  who migrated from the south of China after the second World war. Doi Tung is well known for the royal residence of the King’s Mother and her beautiful flower garden. Mae Sai, the northern most point of Thailand border to Myanmar, the biggest market where people can enjoy shopping products from China and Myanmar.The latest popular places that tourists all around the world never want to miss are Wat Rong Khun, White Temple and Ban Dam. These two places are where the very impressive works of art were created by two great artists of Chiangrai that tourists must to see.
